Pumpkin Pie and Cardigans

Well it is my favorite season of the year! I know we are not officially there, however, Labor Day has passed and I am feeling the cooler mornings. Summer has passed our family and the kids summer birthdays with it as well. My daughter's July Birthday pictures will be loaded as soon as I figure out how to load them. I was inspired by a lovely wooden vintage/shabby chic look I purchased at a really cool place in Fresno called The Palace Courtyard. I can spend hours in there and if you like good deals they have authentic Coach bags in addition to antiques and books. Speaking of bags, I have finally cleared out my closet preparing for my cardigans and so very handy and classic trenchcoat.  I just better stop eating the pumpkin pie or else I won't be able to button it up!  I already baked my first pumpkin pie. I must confess that I was unable to find Libby's canned pumpkin so far this season. Last year it seems there was a shortage due to some rainfalls and fungus impeding the canning process which is only done once a year. My pies did not turn out as they normally do but it sure did smell great in the kitchen! Hoping my local Raley's grocery store will get some soon!

I am finally working on my curtains!! I found my perfect fabric after several weeks. I somehow managed to stuff the roll in my back seat, rolled out the 10 yards and sat there for an hour or more measuring. Yes I was paranoid about cutting it and the Home Fabrics lady's voice was ringing in my ears.. "It is okay, it is only fabric, but you need to measure three times before you cut!!" Oh sure it is just fabric but I spent almost 90 bucks on fabric! Needless to say, after much number crunching and measuring (and yes even praying) I took the scissors to the carefully laid out diamond print and cut the three panels. Now I just need to go back to the sewing room and complete them. I will post pictures when I have finished my creation!
